PART 1 “Catching Mud Crabs with his Bare Hands”

In part 1 of the series I head “Back to The Mac.” The McArthur River. It’s a 1,000km drive from my house to the river, which is near Borroloola in the Gulf of Carpentaria. I catch up with my mates and we head out on the water for some fishing and mud crabbing.

Part 2 “Mud Crab Fever”

Part 2 is the longest episode of the series. We do some night fishing for Barramundi, then head to a remote coastal creek to check Ash’s crab pots. He has started mud crabbing professionally this year and shows me how it’s done.

After spending most of the trip so far out in the Gulf of Carpentaria, we spend my final day of fishing up a small creek and go to one of our favourite spots for some Barramundi fishing, with several double hookups.
